What does the textile designer do in his job? The best way to understand it is to visualize that everything starts from a white and neutral fabric on which we create motifs and colors to animate it. Then we design products or fabrics that are sold by the meter. But before we get to the sale, the research and artistic creation work for the design of the motifs is primordial and demanding and, in my opinion, there is little difference between a designer and an artist. For my part, the work of creating motifs begins with the observation of nature. What interests me above all are the small details, the textures and the colors. Passionate about the sea and everything related to it, my work is greatly influenced by it. Once the motif has been designed it must be transferred to the fabric and to do this several techniques are possible. It is at this moment that the craftswoman comes into play. In my opinion, the expertise and sensitivity of the artist, the designer and the craftswoman are interrelated.
